Again, Bruce Sullivan was the highlight of the 8th Swim Australia COnference – concluded last week on the Gold Coast. he entertained, he educated and he left all in attendance inspired.
Bruce has featured in none of the twelve Australasian-Oceania Swimming Professionals Conventions of which the Swim Australia Conference is the business development component.
The session “Selling Down Time and Winter” was the best example we have yet encountered of tailoring professional/business concepts to industry-specific needs.
later that day, Bruce would up the Convention – a long ten days of professional development – with a session that had all participating to the max! …and they went home with lots of practical ideas that could be readily implemented immediately.
However, for Bruce, it all started the night before. He performed with great aplomb as Master of Ceremonies for the annual Swim Australia Dinner which incorporates the presentation of awards. Appropriate activities got the audience into the mood. He kept the evening flowing to perfection. He covered masterfully the mistakes of others. Little touches were spot on; like thanking the band by their first names. Significantly, while highly entertaining, Bruce complemented – not competed with – the special guest presenters and speakers.
Master presenter laurie Lawrence, himself as speaker and participant at the Convention and Dinner, informed me (to paraphrase): “I’ve heard many presenters – you have one of the best there in Bruce Sullivan”.
