The Inaugural International Swim Schools Conference, conducted on Fiji’s Treasure Island from the 1st – 5th August 2005, was an outstanding success. The education, the entertainment, the inspiration, the networking, the setting, the food, the weather …all were sensational. This was by far the standout conferencing type event I have been associated with.
One thing rose above all, however, and that was Bruce Sullivan.
Together with Laurie lawrence, Bruce formed the backbone of the presentations. Such was the quality of Bruce’s material and the engaging nature of his delivery, everyone of the 72 delegates attended all his sessions …and this with the beach, snorkeling, hammocks and poolside bar etc just outside the ‘lecture’ room. Enough said!
Well not quite; it should also be highlighted how Bruce participated fully in all aspects of the event – everything from chatting over breakfast with delegates to entering the spirit on the dance floor into the evening.

“I found Bruce Sullivan to be so good. Have got lots out of the Herman model he spoke about. Really thought provoking stuff. All good”
Mandi McKenzie, Kapati Learn to Swim, New Zealand.
“This was one of the most positive networking conferences I have attended. Bruce Sullivan is fabulous. His sessions were very engaging and informative. Although he was speaking to a workshop full of people, I felt he was speaking directly to me. I would love to see him present at future conferences”
Carla Zarifeh, Aquaventures, Canada.
“Bruce ever so gently touched hearts and souls, and opened doors that have been jammed shut for some time. I came home with a better understanding of myself and my staff and the determination to hold on to the feeling of ‘well being’ long after the conference is over”
Brana Williams, City of Gosnells, Western Australia.
“The manner in which Bruce conducted his sessions was TREMENDOUS. I’ve been involved in many, many conferences over the last 25 years. But as a presenter, a facilitator, moderator, referee and in some cases co-conspirator he’s the BEST. I was amazed at how much I enjoyed learning about a few things I could care less (“Down Blue side, settle down”) about”.
